Anodizing/Anaphoretic Electrodeposition of Nano-Calcium Phosphate/Chitosan Lactate Multifunctional Coatings on Titanium with Advanced Corrosion Resistance, Bioactivity, and Antibacterial Properties

The aim of this work was to investigate corrosion resistivity, bioactivity, and antibacterial activity novel nano-amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) potentially multifunctional composite coatings with without chitosan oligosaccharide lactate (ChOL), ACP + ChOL/TiO2 ACP/TiO2 ChOL/TiO2, respectively, on the titanium substrate. were obtained by new single-step in situ anodization substrate generate TiO2 anaphoretic electrodeposition process ChOL. around 300 ± 15 ?m thick consisted two phases, namely, hybrid phases. Both have improved stability, whereas coating showed better stability. It shown that at very start deposition process, formation layer takes place predominantly, which is followed inclusion ChOL into simultaneous growth TiO2. This mechanism resulted strongly bonded uniform stable high resistance. In vitro bioactivity investigated immersion samples simulated body fluid (SBF). There in-bone-like apatite both surfaces upon SBF, proven X-ray diffraction Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. While shows no activity, exhibited three- fourfold decreases number Staphylococcus aureus Pseudomonas aeruginosa, after 420 min. probable binding bacterial cell wall, inhibiting its growth, altering permeability membrane, leading death.
